Set Up a Channel
Connect WhatsApp to Locari in three steps and configure notification hours so you receive applications at the right time.
Here you set up your personal notification channel. Locari supports Webchat (always on, no setup), Email (transactional system notifications) and WhatsApp (optional Premium channel for direct notifications and applicant chat). This page walks you through connecting WhatsApp and configuring notification hours.
What Locari does automatically: Validate the verification code, link the phone number to your account, route all notifications to your WhatsApp from that point on, and queue messages outside your notification window for batch delivery. What you decide: Which number to use, when you are reachable, whether to disconnect later.
Common Tasks
- Connect WhatsApp
- Configure notification hours
- Disconnect WhatsApp and switch to Webchat
- Renew an expired connection

How to
Connect WhatsApp
- Go to Settings → Channels (your personal settings, not workspace settings).
- Click Connect WhatsApp on the WhatsApp card.
- A dialog opens with a QR code and a link.
- On mobile: scan the QR code with your camera app — WhatsApp opens automatically with a pre-filled verification code.
- On desktop: click Open WhatsApp or copy the link to your phone.
- Send the pre-filled message in WhatsApp without any changes.
- The page detects the successful connection and shows the Connected badge.
Example: Property manager Daniela connects her office number +49 89 … — from now on she receives new applications for all 45 units as instant WhatsApp notifications.
The verification link is valid for 15 minutes. Open WhatsApp before the timer expires. If it has expired, close the dialog and click Connect WhatsApp again to generate a new code.
What the verification checks: Whether the code is in the correct format (LV-…), has not expired, and whether the phone number is not already linked to another Locari account. What you decide: Whether to send the code. A phone number can only be connected to one account at a time.
Configure notification hours
- Enable the toggle on the Notification Hours card.
- Enter From (e.g.
07:00) — start of your availability. - Enter To (e.g.
22:00) — end of your availability. - Select your Timezone from the dropdown.
- The preview confirms: "Notifications active: 07:00 – 22:00" and "Quiet time: 22:00 – 07:00".
Example: Stefan (4 units) sets 07:00–22:00. An application arriving at 23:45 appears in his WhatsApp the next morning at 07:00 — no disrupted sleep.
Note: High-priority messages (viewing appointments, self-set reminders) are always delivered immediately, regardless of quiet hours.
Disconnect WhatsApp
- Go to Settings → Channels.
- Click Disconnect on the WhatsApp card.
- Locari automatically resets your preferred channel to Webchat.
After disconnecting, you receive notifications in the Locari Webchat only (browser or app).
Renew connection
If the Connected badge has disappeared or an error is shown:
- Go to Settings → Channels.
- Click Connect WhatsApp — a new verification code is generated.
- Follow the steps under Connect WhatsApp again.
Common causes for a lost connection: verification expired, number re-activated on a different device, or the connection was manually disconnected.

Audit and History
Connection and disconnection events (timestamp, channel type, verification status) are stored per user. Support can access this history on request.
A phone number that has been disconnected is not reserved. Another person can link it to a different Locari account as soon as you disconnect.
Permissions and Multi-select
- Visible to: you only — channel settings are per user, not per workspace.
- Connect / Disconnect: you only — administrators cannot change another user's channel.
- Notification hours: you only — each team member has independent settings.
- WhatsApp (Premium): requires at least one active rental unit subscription in the workspace — without an active subscription the Connect WhatsApp button is disabled.
