This is the Clarifications tab on the applicant detail view. It opens from the Applicant Detail View. For the overarching AI communication strategy see Locari AI — Clarifications.
On this tab you see all questions Locari has automatically sent to this applicant — for example when details were contradictory, required fields were missing, or values seemed unusual. Answered clarifications remain visible; open items appear with a badge.
What Locari does automatically: Detect contradictions between self-reported details and documents, identify missing required fields, send clarification questions by email to the applicant, and evaluate incoming answers. What you decide: Dismiss individual clarifications, add your own questions, or manually override answers.
Common Tasks
- View open clarifications
- Answer a clarification manually
- Dismiss a clarification
- Process decision clarifications
How To
View open clarifications
- Open the Clarifications tab — the badge shows the number of open items.
- Each card shows: applicant name, status badge (Open / Answered / Dismissed / Expired), question and timestamp.
- Example: Applicant Müller stated income of 3,200 € but the pay slip shows 2,850 €. Locari automatically asks: "Please explain the difference of approx. 350 € between your stated income and your current pay slip."
Answer a clarification manually
- Open the card for the desired clarification.
- Click Respond, enter your text, click Send answer.
- The status changes to "Answered"; Locari incorporates your answer into the application evaluation.
What the AI does with your answer: A manually entered answer is treated the same as an applicant answer and flows into the criteria evaluation. What you decide: Whether the answer is sufficient — you can manually adjust the criteria evaluation afterwards.
Dismiss a clarification
- Open the card → click Dismiss and confirm in the dialog.
- Status changes to "Dismissed"; no further message is sent to the applicant.
- Dismissed clarifications continue to be documented in the History tab.
Process decision clarifications
Decision clarifications arise when Locari detects a situation that requires your explicit decision — e.g. a pet despite a "no pets" criterion.
They are handled exactly like a fact question — there are no separate "Accept"/"Reject" buttons:
- Open the card — read the question.
- Click Respond and enter your decision as a short free text (e.g. "Cat is fine, deposit will be increased").
- Click Send answer — Locari continues the application process based on your answer. Alternatively click Dismiss if no response is needed.
Views and Fields
Clarifications list
Visible per clarification:
- Applicant name
- Status badge: Open / Answered / Dismissed / Expired
- Question text (auto-generated or manually added)
- Your answer (once sent)
- Timestamps: created, answered
Behind the scenes Locari distinguishes between a fact question and a decision clarification — but for handling it makes no difference: both use the same card with Respond and Dismiss.
Status meanings
- Open — applicant has not yet replied, or your decision is pending
- Answered — answer received and evaluated
- Dismissed — manually dismissed, no further action
- Expired — response deadline passed without reply
Audit and History
All clarification events (created, answered, dismissed) automatically appear in the History tab for this applicant. Individual clarifications cannot be deleted retroactively — they are retained until the applicant record is deleted.
Dismissing a clarification cannot be undone. Once dismissed, the applicant will not receive any further automatic follow-up on that point.
Good to know
- Clarifications cannot be managed in bulk — each action (Respond or Dismiss) is performed per card.
- For an overview across all applicants switch to the Applicant List — filter by listing, phase, and date range, sort by name, application date, or last update.
